“Physicists say we are made of stardust. …

“Physicists say we are made of stardust.
Intergalactic debris and far-flung atoms, shards of
carbon nanomatter rounded up by gravity to circle the sun.
As atoms pass through an eternal revolving door of possible
form, energy and mass dance in fluid relationship.
We are stardust.
We are man.
We are thought.
We are story.”

Confused Story

Once upon a time
or perhaps it was twice
there was a girl
or was it a boy
who went on a glorious adventure to capture a dragon
or did she save a princess
or find a magic key
or invite a goblin for tea
Yes, I suppose that was it
He invited a goblin for tea
or maybe for hot chocolate
and they started talking about buried treasure
that is, they were talking about traveling into outer space
I mean, underground
until the goblin wanted cake
or muffins
or chocolate
So the girl—or boy—went to the kitchen
but the cakes had been eaten by a pack of lions
or rather, the chocolates were stolen by a tricky thief
to be precise, the muffins were confiscated by the corrupted government
or perhaps they were brownies
When the goblin heard this, it grew so angry that it refused to share its treasure map
or possibly it was the plans for constructing the machine to take them to… somewhere
The boy cried after the goblin left, for he was tired of his boring life
I mean, because he was treated badly at home
that is, he wasn’t home at all, but trying to get there
She didn’t know what Home looked like
but she was trying to get there.

Thoughts, beliefs
like bluebirds
buzz through my brain
buried in babbledom
as they beg to be listened to

Bury your precautions
Boil off your trepidations
Banish your doubts
Beat that which begins to stop you

Believe what cannot be
[they bellow]
Before it is too late
to hope
